One + One = Two in one Hit

' DANCE'
Dance like there's no one watching,
sing like there's no one listening,
LOVE like you have never been hurt and live like it's heaven on earth.
....Some thing we all need to do, but do not always do it....food for thought....
I just loved this and wanted to share it with you all.

I got inspired by the following sketch and color palette:

'ONCE UPON A SKETCH & THE COLOR ROOM'

and here are some close ups from my favorite details:

Paper:- BUTTERFLY GARDEN from PINK PAISLEE

Flowers:- Silk flowers given to me from a very dear friend of mine, cut and rearranged to the Susan style.

Butterfly's and boarders:- Made with the notorious MARTHA STEWART punches.

BELOW: dusty attic  DA0274 French Flourish#2..cut in half.
Stitching:- with the help from Sew Easy.

Thank you for taking the time to visit. Catch you next time.

Dream

Dusty Attic sketch challenge for the month of May. By Michelle Grant.

The paper I used is a old paper line..when you hear the name you will laugh...and then it will be out! It will be known how far back my paper stash goes.....For those that have seen it all ready...RUSTY PICKLE..can you belive it. But it was perfect for the photo's. What is more, I had exactly enough paper with out looking to the card stock for help....Great way of making more room for the new paper that comes in.......This weekend I shall be going down to visit Scrapdelight with their weekend  celebration,  for being so many years open. Take a visit www.scrapdelight.nl
Below you will see my first effort on these wonderful roses

Below: Dusty Attic dragonflies DA0518 painted with glimmer glam-Golden Goddess and Be Positive. I once again made a paper ruffle around the circle. Disstressed, then stitched in place with gold thread.

Above: The green leaves are made with the new mini shapers and movers from Tim Holtz. Leaves and twigs. Cut from a brown box. Top layer spritzed with water then with a sharp vegie knife the top layer carefuly taken off. Glimmer glam- Dirty Martini (green) used. Dry with the heat gun...it will bubble. This gives a fantastic grunge effect. I have become hooked on it. The top layer I took off, is used as the second leaf. This gives a contrast. I did the same with the tittle DREAM. I just used different colors and more glam.

Below: I used the DONNA DOWNING foam stamp from PRIMA to make the steamed flowers. Stamped in different colors cut out. Foam tape then glossy to finish it off.

Busy Week !!!!!

The Color Room #57

I was not planning to do last weeks challenge, but once I saw the color palette I could not resist. I already had the Butterfly garden in the must do file........so it was don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today.....I also went for the sketch.....

'CATCH THE DREAM'

The photo's are of my Mum and her husband Ian. They had four wonderful years together before the cancer took her. She had a whirl wind of total bliss. Every time they visited my sister in Australia, it was like a second honey moon. Here, they were there for her wedding, my sisters that is. Truly two love birds!

Close up of the Prima roses and the clay leaves I made. You can see some of the cut work. I pinched the cage idea from Gerry van Gent. When she showed me what she had done with the papers....I said then that I was going to use it.....what else would one do with it,but cut it. To me it screamed... cut me... cut me...Interesting how you can do the same thing, but it will look completely different. Check her blog out to see for your self.

In this LO. used Dusty Attic doily#3 DA0481 This time I sewed around a circle of the paper, then attached it. But I did use a little Glimmer Glam on the edges of the doily. Dirty Martini and Golden Goddess

ONCE UPON A SKETCH- May 14

'REFLECTIONS'

When I saw the sketch, I knew what paper I was going to use....Websters Pages......
Photos are of Nicole, a out with her Mum in Wellington NZ. Hanging out and doing crazy girls stuff like riding cable cars for fun.

For above and below photos, I used Dusty Attic foliage DA0506 and leaves DA0508. I decked them with white gesso then sprayed with glimmer mist. I also used a bit of glimmer glam Dirty Martini (green color) To finish I used Lime green stickles on the tips. What I love the most about these Dusty Attic chippies...they go with every thing. They can be found at Srapdelight. Keep an eye out as they will be getting new stock in shortly! A little birdie told me they are at customs...waiting to be released...so they are on ducth soil!
I used the Quickutz for the alphabet.

Pins are from Maya Road.

Ribbon and netting Websters Pages. To be found at Scrapdelight.

I had a lot of fun doing this LO. I hope you have enjoyed taking a squiz at the close ups.
Thanks for taking the time to visit....remember I do love to get your feed back.....so leave a comment.
Have a scrappy day/night and catch you later.....

The Color Room

The first time I played at the 'COLOR ROOM'.....and I am featured! A big WOW for me!

A big thank you to all the wonderful and talented scrappies over there that made the time to comment on this LO. I sure will want to play again. The only hold back is..... 'TIME'

'
'CUTE CHARMUER"......enjoy the moments that make you smile....... This is my second and youngest son Damiaan. Made and born in Holland. Photo taken in New Zealand. He sure was a charmer..still is. Like all children, they steal your hearts.
Paper and flowers used here are from Primamarketing.

Letters for the alphabet, -Quickutz-Fiesta and CK Typist. Cut x6 stacked, glued then clear stickles applied.

Close up of the Dusty Attic chip used....DA0491- Fancy labels. Decked with gesso then, crackle paint from Tim Holtz-Ranger. Ink and clear stickles used to make it pop, but still keeping it soft to blend in to the color palette.I used a prima stamp, then embossed, added prima bling to pop it. Cut it in half, then placed behind the Dusty Attic chip. Which brings the attention to this product.....and of course the journaling. Photo's are distressed then hand stitched.....I always hand stitch..never with the sewing machine... I am too lazy to get it all up and going. Also I do this mostly while watching a movie in the evening etc, It gets me out of my studio. I used my new toy...Sew Easy....for the stitching.
DO WE NEED THIS?.....YES.....WHY?.....so we do not wast time measuring. A must have for all the extra fancy patterns.

Tip: Easy Stitching are bringing out new patterns..Bigger and Just as much fun! Can't wait!

Look closely and you will see I used two mirror birds from Heidi Swapp. One under the bird cage-from Tim Holtz- The other smaller on top. I used ink and stickles on the edges to pop it.I have used two Martha Stewart boarder punches in this LO. The small flower boarder and the Train. The Train is made from core card stock.......a great asset for LO's with baby's or children. The flower is punched from scrap design paper inked then a prima pearl s placed on the last flower. The Prima bling is also used on the top of the cage.

Once again thanks for stopping by........may be we will see each other at the color room....
Catch you later....oxoxxo
